How the Challenge Works

Throughout the year, we’re saving toward our $1,000 goal in different ways — connecting everyday banking to community impact.

January–March 2: RRSP & TFSA Contribution (Now Closed)

To kick off the challenge, for every RRSP or TFSA plan opened, we set aside $5 into our Community Savings Challenge account.

Thank you to everyone who participated and helped us start strong!

Current Focus: Mobile Wallet

Now, we’re continuing the momentum with our next way to save:

  • Add Mobile Wallet to your smartphone — and we’ll contribute $5 to the challenge.

Why Mobile Wallet? Safe. Secure. Simple.

Mobile Wallet isn’t just convenient — it’s designed with built-in security features that make it a safe way to pay.

  • Your card number isn’t shared. When you add your card, it creates a unique, encrypted digital number (a tokenized Personal Account Number) that replaces your actual card number during transactions. Your real card details are never given to the merchant.

  • You don’t hand over your card. Tapping your phone instead of inserting or swiping your card makes it harder for someone to see or copy your information.

  • No visible PIN entry. Most mobile wallet transactions use Face ID, fingerprint, or passcode authentication — reducing the risk of someone observing your PIN.

  • Built-in device security. If your phone is lost or stolen, you can remotely lock or erase it for added protection.

It’s modern convenience backed by strong security.

What Happens Next?

This challenge will continue throughout the year, with new ways to save announced monthly. Each month brings a fresh opportunity to contribute to the goal — and to our communities — together.

We’ll share updates along the way so members can see how the savings are adding up and how close we’re getting to our $1,000 goal.
