At Stoughton Credit Union, saving has always been about more than dollars — it’s about people, community, and belonging. That’s why we’ve decided to take on our own $1,000 Savings Challenge, with a local twist.
Our goal is to save $1,000 by our June BBQs and use those funds to bonus our 2026 BBQ recipients right here in Stoughton and Kisbey. Whatever we save will be split between both communities, helping us give back in a meaningful, local way.
How the Challenge Works
Throughout the winter and spring, we’ll be saving toward our $1,000 goal in different ways.
For January and February, we’re kicking things off by tying the challenge to saving for your future:
-
For every RRSP or TFSA plan opened, we’ll set aside $5 into our Community Savings Challenge account.
It’s a simple way for everyday financial decisions to make a bigger community impact.
What Happens Next?
This challenge will continue throughout this winter and spring, with new ways to save announced monthly. Each month will bring a fresh opportunity to contribute to the goal — and to our communities — together.
We’ll be sharing updates along the way so members can see how the savings are adding up and how close we’re getting to our $1,000 goal.
Why We’re Doing This
Because local matters.
Because community belongs here.
And because saving feels even better when it helps your neighbours.
Whether you’re opening an RRSP, starting a TFSA, or simply cheering us on, you’re part of something bigger — a place that knows you and gives back to the communities we all call home.
